Beth Anderson – Boss, Visionary, and Educator
Welcome to my Chic Galleria world! I’m a writer, blogger, mother, daughter, business owner, and Main Street Program Manager in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. I describe myself as a member of the Sandwich Generation; a single-mom juggling two children and two parents.
I’m an avid fan of all sports associated with my alma mater, the University of Michigan. Go Blue! My degree is in Early Childhood education and I use it to run the volunteer reading mentor program at a local elementary school. Once a teacher, always a teacher. Just ask my interns!
Music has always been a huge part of my life. I’m an over-obsessed Dave Matthews Band fan but have also spent many hours listening to Pearl Jam, Duran Duran, and Led Zeppelin. I bet you can figure out which era I spent listening to each of these! When I have time, I love to binge-watch a series on Netflix or HBO and I never miss a season of The Bachelor.
Casey Roon – Writer, Motivational Speaker, Champion of Women
Howdy from Texas! I’m thrilled to be working again with my friend, Beth Anderson. I am a very strong believer in the empowerment of women, and when strong women work together, the sky is the limit!
I am one of four creators of Phitgirls, a movement we started in Texas to empower women of every age, challenging them to work toward becoming the very best version of themselves. Phitgirls began in a small town in East Texas and now has members in almost every state and even Australia and Puerto Rico! I’m looking forward to sharing more about Phitgirls with you as I begin to contribute often to Chic Galleria.
I believe in the Road Not Taken, and I am a firm believer that you can do anything you set your mind to. I don’t like to be told no, and I love a challenge. I am a 42-year-old Mom, and raising my son is my greatest accomplishment and the reason I get up every morning. But once I do roll out of bed, watch out! I am the ultimate multi-tasker and will go full-speed until I drop at the end of each day. I like to pack a lot into each and every moment!
I am originally from Kalamazoo, MI and a graduate of Rice University in Houston, TX. About a decade ago, I was a blogger who was routinely featured on Divine Caroline, the Chicago Sun-Times, and Chic Galleria. I even had some photography run in the New York Times. I love my morning coffee, my evening wine, and my pets Whiskey and Queen. I am a self-proclaimed health and wellness junkie, as well as a gym rat. I can usually be found in a Yankees cap with a scarf wrapped around my neck, and a bottle or two of water banging around in my oversized purse.
Welcome to my craziness.
Madeline Ohl – Writer, Schedule Manager, and the Boss’ Right-Hand-Woman
I live in Ruston, LA. I am a senior at Louisiana Tech University studying communication. Not surprisingly, I love to talk, text, write and do anything else that involves communicating! A few of my favorite things include Jesus, family, southern sunshine, friends, and makeup. I love drinking coffee and listening to music. I am a romantic and am drawn to anything inspirational. I love most healthy foods but I am totally opposed to watermelon and grapes, don’t judge me! I am a presenter for Younique and am head over heels in love with making other women feel confident and beautiful. On a regular week day you can find me sitting in my chic apartment scrolling through Pinterest, watching my favorite TV series or filming a makeup tutorial. I cannot stand hearing people chew, even myself, it makes my skin crawl! I enjoy listening to raw vocals mixed with the guitar, especially when it is worship music! My wonderful fiancé studies Kinesiology and works as a youth pastor. He is sunshine on a cloudy day! At the beginning of college I was active in sorority, on the Louisiana Tech Cheerleading team and a student recruiter. For my final year I have scaled back in order to prepare for life after college! PLEASE feel free to reach out and chat about any and everything. I would love to get to know you!
Dakota Dupont – Writer, Pinterest Queen, and Fashion Fanatic
I’m from a small town in Louisiana called Benton. I’m going to be a senior a Louisiana Tech University, majoring in Communication. After graduation, I plan on pursuing a career in Sports Broadcasting. I’m involved in Sigma Kappa Sorority as well as a former cheerleader for the Bulldogs. After cheering my freshmen, sophomore, and junior year of college, I am now the assistant coach for the Louisiana Tech Cheerleading Squad.
Despite my love for sports, my dream job would be to live in New York City where I could initiate my own fashion blog. Outside of schoolwork and coaching cheerleading, I spend the rest of my free time shopping! I believe you can never have enough clothes, shoes or accessories. I’m a sucker for cute pictures and spending time with my closest friends and family. In my downtime, I enjoy watching my favorite television show, gossip girl, and obsessing over my own Pinterest boards. On the weekends, I love to travel to new places and experience new things. I love spending my Sundays enjoying my favorite coffee (white chocolate mocha) and catching up on the latest trends.
Fun Fact: I’m OBSESSED with honey!! (I eat it on absolutely everything…this includes hamburgers)
Brooke Kenney – Writer, Trend Setter, and Picture Poser
My name is Brooke Kenney. I am a native of Bryant, Arkansas but a Louisiana girl at heart! I obtained my BA in speech language at Louisiana Tech University and am still at La Tech working on my Master’s degree. I was a member of the La Tech Regal Blues dance team and Sigma Kappa Beta Epsilon Sorority. I am currently an assistant coach for the Regal Blues.
I love fashion, whether it’s modeling for local boutiques or shopping for my personal wardrobe. I believe a shoe can make or break an outfit, and retail therapy can cure all. I am a lover of all things Starbucks, Kate Spade, and The Bachelor. On the weekends you’ll find me cheering for the bulldogs, dining at my favorite brunch spot, or at the theatre obsessing over the latest Leonardo DiCaprio movie.
Brittany Leung – Writer, World Traveler, and Fashion Runway Photographer
I currently live and work in New York City, where I pursue my passions for fashion, photography, and writing. I’m a copywriter for Victoria Secret PINK.
Every season I attend New York Fashion Week and the Nolcha Shows representing Chic Galleria Publications, LLC.
In my free time, I love trying new foods with family & friends, performing music, and sharing my photos with others.
Elizabeth Shults– Writer, Social Media Expert, and Pinterest Fanatic.
I am from Bloomfield Hills, MI, but currently live in Ann Arbor where I attend the University of Michigan. I love everything and anything related to food, fashion, and fun. My absolutely favorite thing to do is travel with my family and friends, while trying different foods from all over the world.
I am hoping to major in organizational studies which encompasses a variety of different components including sociology, psychology, economics, and communications. I am a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and love working with our philanthropy, St. Jude’s Children hospital.
I am absolutely obsessed with Pinterest and finding new clothes, accessories, travel guides, home décor, and much more to add to all of my boards/collections. On the weekends you can find me cheering on my beloved Wolverines and visiting new places around Ann Arbor. I love summer, the outdoors, swimming, and singing. You can also find me enjoying several different shows on Netflix, all of which I am continuously back and forth between.
I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but somehow I made my way to the midwest, where I currently attend the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I am a Southern girl with a huge heart and an even bigger stomach…I love anything involving any kind of food (but I am a tad biased toward Southern cuisine). I am a huge brunch enthusiast. If omelets or Belgian waffles are being served you can probably find me with a 5-yard radius. I once tried the vegan life for a 3 hours before I ate a cheese burger.
I hope to double major in business with a concentration in finance and economics. After college, I plan to attend law school and pursue a Juris Doctor degree in corporate law.
I love talking to people and interacting, almost as much as I love animals. Luckily, being in the Delta Delta Delta Sorority at the University of Michigan and being a volunteer at my local humane society gives me the best of both worlds. If you’re ever looking for me, you can find me at Frita Batidos (possibly most amazing Cuban burger joint in the world), online shopping in the nearest Starbucks, or aimlessly strolling through the streets of Downtown Ann Arbor. I love fashion almost as much as I love my amazing and extremely supportive family and friends, and I’m so excited to combine both of these in my new Chic Galleria family.
In case you were wondering, yes I do say y’all often.
To leave you with my favorite quote…”Fashion comes and goes, but style lasts forever.” -Coco Chanel
Kali Smith – Writer, Music Obsessed, and Photographer
I am from Bloomfield Hills, MI but go to school at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I have a passion for music, spending most of my time discovering the latest music fads on Spotify or SoundCloud. I also spend a lot of time practicing yoga because I believe the mental state is just as important, if not more than, one’s physical state.
In my free time I enjoy going out with close friends to a nice dinner where we can have good conversation and eat the best cuisine. I’ve recently become obsessed with film, returning back to the classics and also keeping up with the newest releases. Last Summer I lived on Mackinac Island, which was a really positive experience.
I plan on majoring in Communications with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Hopefully, this combination will lead me to a career in the entertainment industry where I can work closely with artists, helping to promote their work and image.
I’ve cared about fashion since I was a little girl and am so excited to be part of a team that is equally excited by it!
Ellen Svardh – Writer, Photographer and World Traveler
I recently moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan from my beautiful home Stockholm, Sweden to attend the University of Michigan. Having moved country five times in my yet young life I naturally harbor a love for travel and exploring different cultures. I’m an avid believer in that you haven’t truly experienced a place until you’ve lived there.
Another passion: language. Living in Duesseldorf, Germany for five years allowed me to master (well almost master) the ins and outs of Deutsch and, believe it or not, I used to have a charming Irish accent from my childhood years in Dublin.
Sweden is however the place I owe my love for fashion, beauty, and all things chic to; take a stroll through the streets of Stockholm and you’ll understand why.
I plan on majoring in Psychology here at the university and, a quick change of topic, if you ever run out of ideas of what to text a cute guy, I got your covered.
Samantha Greenfield – Fashion lover, Student, and Sorority Girl
I am originally from Boca Raton, FL, but now live in Ann Arbor where I attend the University of Michigan. I am currently an undecided major, but hope to find something that combines my love of fashion, business, communications, and law. (So basically everything aside from pre-med)
Being from South Florida, the idea and concept of a big city and seasons was always fascinating to me. Snow is one of the many foreign concepts to me, as well as, winter so look out for an article on how to actual remain warm while living in the tundra. I am also obsessed with New York City. I literally try and go there as many times as humanly possible throughout the year. I believe there is truly nothing better than walking down Fifth Avenue post-brunch at Sarabeth’s with the wind in your hair and the world in you hands.
I am a die hard Michigan fan and when I am not traveling or in the library you can find me either in the Big House or the M Den!
Fashion, friends, and family have always been a part of my life! I see this echoed in my sorority Delta Delta Delta at the University and can’t wait to share my experiences with you!
