It’s like killing two birds with one stone. Brunch is perfect for the weekend after you have had a long and hard week. You can enjoy a nice brunch from your favorite restaurant (mine is Another Broken Egg) or you can spend your Saturday at home; sleeping in, getting up making the perfect brunch food, followed by a nice nap or a day on the couch binge watching your favorite Netflix show. Below I want to share with you my favorite brunch meal to make.

Ingredients
- 16 oz. sausage
- 1/4 cup flour
- 3 cups milk
- Black pepper to taste
- (makes about 4 waffles in my big waffle maker)
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 tablespoons cold butter
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
Instructions
- Sausage Gravy: Cook the sausage until browned. Add the flour and stir until well combined and continue cooking for about a minute. Add the milk and continue cooking and stirring until thickened. Add more milk if it gets too thick. Add pepper to taste. Reduce heat to low and simmer until ready to use.
- Biscuit Waffles: Combine the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Work the butter in with your fingers, leaving it in pretty big pieces. Add the buttermilk and stir just until combined. Cook according to waffle maker instructions. Serve with gravy.
