Getting healthy is no easy task. It involves being disciplined, sticking to your goals, and avoiding temptation. It is even harder when you are doing it alone. The best way to get healthy and change your diet is to get an accountability partner. Choose someone who is willing to tell you “no” and also willing to go through the struggle with you. What better person is there to do that than your bestie? Here are a few tips for you and your best gal to follow to get healthy and hold each other accountable:
Grocery shop together
Take your best friend to the grocery store so you both will stay focused and not be tempted to grab the Oreos. Make a list so you have a plan. One of the biggest tips I have heard when it comes to buying food is to avoid the center aisles of the grocery store. All of the healthy options are placed on the outskirts and the middle is the processed foods and junk. Make a promise to steer each other clear of the middle aisles.
Cook Together
If there is anything harder than eating clean, it is cooking clean. Make it a girl’s night and do some meal prepping together. It makes the process more fun, and you can both trade healthy meals with each other.
Workout Together
Working out is never easy if you are alone. My best friends and I always go to the gym together. Sometimes they end up dragging me there, but afterwards I am always thankful that they were there to keep me accountable. Schedule out your weekly gym visits and motivate each other to go.
Friendly Competition
Get competitive and make getting healthy fun. Challenge each other to drink a gallon of water a day, to eat no bread for a week, or to run every day. Winner gets major bragging rights.
Getting healthy starts with what you are eating and your physical activity, so keep it clean and stay determined. It is much easier to eat healthy and workout if you have an accountability partner. Take on the challenge with your bestie and encourage each other along the way!
