No matter the job, we all interact with coworkers daily. In order for our jobs to run smoothly and efficiently, it is important to get along with the everyone in the office. Here are a few ways to be everybody’s favorite coworker:
Be nice
This tip is an obvious one, but sometimes everyone needs a reminder. We are not going to like or enjoy working with everyone in the office, but regardless we must always be nice to them. Hostility and rudeness only creates a bad work environment.
Be a Team Player
Everyone wants individual praise in the workplace, but no one wants to work with someone who expects praise but does not give it. Be the coworker that is easy to collaborate with and always remember to give other team members credit when it is due.
Stay Away from Gossip
Avoid the office gossip. If you participate in negative conversation about your coworkers, they will grow not trust you or want to work with you. Instead of spreading rumors, opt for spreading compliments.
Do Your Job
Another obvious tip. If deadlines have to be met, or colleagues are depending on you for their work, do not make them wait. Do your job and do it well. Your coworkers will appreciate your efficiency, dedication, and work ethic.
Be Positive
Even during your worst day on the job, find a way to be positive. Spreading negative energy brings down the entire office. Find some type of positive in every work day and help your colleagues get in on the positivity too.
Be the favorite coworker everyone loves because of your attitude, your work ethic, and your overall kindness. Your work life and your colleagues will be so much more enjoyable because of it.
